Hamachi gaming network - LuneriGame
« on: February 19, 2007, 09:40:18 pm »
Hey, I'm extending an invite to those who are interested in playing some games over hamachi. There are a number of slots left, and me, as well as some other Soldat players, would like to find more players from the US area (West Coast preferred) to join in on some gaming. Currently, we're playing a number of games from different genres, such as:

Company of Heroes
Freelancer
Ground Control II
Little Fighters
Prey
(More games will be added as time goes on)

Members so far (From this community):
Lunerfox
Elephant Hunter
Kyklis
Chakra
Sir Sean
LAW Gamer 2k4

I'm hoping to generate a small community of gamers who are interested and open to various genres, and can find time to play and appriciate gaming on a friendly and fun level from time to time as time permits. We try different games from time to time, and generally replay them on a fairly regular basis on weekends and sometimes weekdays. The reason we want to build this community is because we feel that it would be more fun if we can play with people that we know, instead of playing with random people from the internet. If you would like more details, please find me on AIM: Lunerfox or MSN: Lunerfox2000@hotmail.com. PM is also okay.

P.S: You need not have to have all, or any of the games in order to join the network. However, you do need to have a decent computer in order to play a number of these games.

I got CoH, but I'm a euro. Still, I could drop by from time to time.

CoH is fun in the sense that you get to see stuff blow up in high graphic detail, although theres an actual depth with the game, you  are forced to micro quite a bit in order to be successful.

Anyways, it's probably fine to only have 1 or 2 of the games, as I can probably point you in the right direction in getting others.

Ah freelancer, just had enough of it few weeks ago.

I've played various mods with freelancer. Great game even without them, but much more greater with the mods.

Discovery & tekagis treasure were my favs.

vGC was superior...plus it's free. GC2 didn't have squads!

GC is sorta in a sense a different game then GCII: Same idea, but GC had finite units for each battle, as opposed to GCII, which, given enough time, could have infinite units and "respawns". Therefore, GC was a practice of largely micro control, whereas GCII was a battle of a larger, macro control. Although this can definitely be debated, it is in my opinion that in the context of the game itself, I would personally perfer the idea of contesting over a piece of land or resource (I'm a sucker for all things contested: The Trenches, KOTH, GCII, CoH...etc)

PS: So discussion aside, does anyone actually want to PLAY games? Theres around 5 or 6 on the Hamachi network right now, but it'd be tops if more people can join in.

If any of you motherfuckers even dare suggest playing Supreme Commander, i'll ban the fucking lot of you. I just tried that game.... what a waste of time that was.

Takes ages to get to any good action, multiplayer is unstable and crashes, and the game has a liking for lag in a big way, even after the patch, and everything the game ever promised is bollocks. It's still the old build-massive-force-then-rush scenario, just with a larger array of defences to bugger around with. They stole a 'lot' of elements from an old game called Metal Fatigue too ....right down to the graphics. In the end, I find it's just ultimately boring.

Metal Fatigue is amazing.  I don't think it got the hype it deserved.  Meantime, LF2 is a great game; it's nice that I'll be able to play it with other people.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

I think it should be okay if you're not specifically from the west coast, the lag should be minimal. Again, if anyone wants to join in, post here (To help keep this topic for others to see) or PM me.

Pienne: Give me a PM and I'll get back to you (You SHOULD have my MSN, I think)
Chakra: Not really, I'm not a big fan of IRC, I don't imagine you have MSN?
GunPowder: PM me, but beware of the bad lag that might be present.

We usually play Company of Heroes on the Weekends, and might be getting into Freelancer soon. We also play Little Fighters 2 from time to time, and if all goes well, we might actually be able to play Savage 2 over Hamachi (Legally, too) www.s2games.com

I'm also collecting emails/messengers to use in order to organize games, so if anyone wants to play on a drop in basis, leave your details here or PM me.

Just use Trillian.  It supports IRC and MSN, as well as AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and ICQ.  And it's free.
