help running dedicated server

guys ive been tryen to runa dedicated server for a while now and i finally got it to show up in the lobby.(YAY!!!) but the only problem is when people try to join my server all it says is requesting and you cant get in.....
i think it might be i have to open ports to my router O.o which i have no clue how to.... if thats the case than can you tell me how :D ty guys for your help

ty flieslikeabrick but ive been to that thread many times and i have no clue what it means...... i dont get how it is suppose to help me.. also for portfoward i download that? and than what... maybe a little tutorial can help me or something... i would appreciate if anyone could give me anything on the 2 things above anything would be helpful thanks :D

there are tutorials at http://www.portforward.com, that site tells you exactly how to forward ports.  The thread tells you what ports to forward.

hmm when i download portfoward my virus protection pops up and tells me that there is a trojan horse....

That is a false positive. If you notice, the filename that is flagged is the one you just downloaded. Obviously, we are not going to direct you to a site that contains trojans.

wtf is a false positive lmfao.... i do believe u wouldnt send me to a site wit trojans but still my virus protection doesnt lie ^^ well if i download it anyway what will happen to that trojan.. will it get into my comp or just not bother me ( which i hope...)?

A false positive is when a virus scanner claims something is a virus, but it really isn't. This is because most modern scanners use hueristic(sp?) scanning, to identify variants of threats, and new threats that their database is unaware of. It's not that your virus scanner is lieing: it's just wrong. Always better to err on the side of safety, of course.

ooooooo ok now i get it but just 2 things. 1 can i get some reviews of ppl who have used it have you had any problems or anything? and 2 is there any other way of opening my ports for my server O.o cause like u said its always better to err to the side of safety.

port triggering is not necessary for opening the ports to run a soldat server.  Follow the instructions on that site for how to forward the ports in your router's configuration, that is what the site is intended to help you with.

ok i went to check out dem tutorials on www.portfoward.com and i have netgear WGR614v5 but than i have to click on the game and theres no soldat... im stumped ive tried everything and i still cant find it
help would be appreciated thank you guys :D
