ctf_Midnight

This map is my 2nd overall and I think it came out pretty neat.
With a dark theme on it, the name fits it's style. I didn't use much scenery.

I know, the shading could be better.

Not waypointed.

Overview
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Alpha Team's Spawns
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Midfield
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+
Bravo Team's Spawns
+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

I hope you like it, constructive critism appreciated!

+ I like the background colors.
+ Overview looks acceptable, nothing special though.

- Not enough scenery. I don't think it's possible to make a good map (excluding DB and KZ) without at least 100 pieces of scenery. Add grass, some lighting effects, crates to put colliders in, yadda yadda yoo.
- Sharp edges. Owwwwieee! Round them out, they look like crap and are asking for bugs and glitches.

why the hell do people have grid lines active when making a screenshot?
I like to have one Martini
Two at the very most
Three I'm under the table
Four I'm under the host

I could barely see anything at all, even after inverting the overview's colors, so I had to download and disable the BG layer :P Even if the name is Midnight, there is still a moon to illuminate... it shouldn't be pitch-black, lol

You used a lot of scenery from VirtualTT's vegetation pack, and a light by Serial K!ller; you should include those in the download instead of the map file alone. There are polybugs on the map which PW should be easily capable of fixing. The layout is a bit complex for a CTF, and I think there are too many tiny floating boulders. It reminds me a little of ctf_Nuubia in a sense, particularly since both use rodzynka.bmp for the texture. But the layout should be well-defined; here, it looks like you splattered polygons about and just chose the flag positions.

I told this to jrgp as well: the layout is basically what makes or breaks a map. Beta testers look for maps with good layouts more than aesthetics or other elements (although those also are important of course), so most of the time invested into a map should be spent thinking of a good layout.

Today's sceneries should become the default standard in the next version of soldat...

I personally like the map although it looks like it lacks scenery and colliders. If and when you put some scenery in there, I always try to make every barrel and box with colliders so it seems a bit more realistic. I like the concept and idea, and the shading doesn't look too bad. Work on it some more and it could turn out to be a very decent sort of map.

I like the darkness =D.

I like the overall layout, from what I can see.  ;)  Try posting an overview without all of the objects and disable the grid.  I'd only suggest making it a bit lighter background because it is very hard to see.  Other than that, nice work.

Hmm...I like this map but maybe you can put more scenery in it...There are only 11 scenerys...I think it would make the map more better looking
