My third map has officially hit the forums!
ctf_tw_Last Stand
Map Type: Capture the Flag/Trench Warfare
Custom Scenery: Yes
Poly Shading: Yes
Bot Support: Yes
Poly Count: 395
Scenery: 90
Colliders: 23
This battle-hardened World War I style trench warfare battlefield is complete with your typical WWI qualities: flat and bare hills, scattered dead trees, barbwire, trenches, bunkers, artillery craters, a bit of fog, and plenty of dirt and filth! ^^ This map was made and designed especially for
Avarax
(see
this
topic for details) and his new Soldat game type: trench warfare.

looks god and fun. Not too much eyecandy but still looks attractive.
it does look a bit too dark though

That looks really cool. I love the crater in the middle. I can't wait until Avarax gets a server of this gametype up.

woot! it's up and running again, or at least the download should work now.
also, you can make .png files (its an image file) where some pixels have not only a color value but also a transparency value. that mist effect was from a .png file that was like a cloud, where the edges were set at a steady decrease in transparency as the distance from the center of the could grew, thus giving it a blurry effect. in other words, I didnt use a .bmp, cause those are only transparent wherever it's perfectly greenthat specific scenery file is one that a bunch of people use in maps these days: amb_cloud1-sk.png
also, yeah I know it's kinda dark and lacking of eye candy, but have you ever played the half-life mod

Looks great, I love the atmosphere it creates. Perhaps some more dead tree's an vehicles etc though

this maps gameplay is bullf*ck, I played it on avarax and wish I never had and I think a lot of people will agree with me, it doesn't create any atmosphere AT ALL, there is not enough cover, the map has no good curves, everything is round like a babys ass and i can just shoot a clip in the air and take out the whole bravo team, plus its too damn short.

I agree with ViG In Trenchwar there should be more cover then its fun to play!

yeah, never tried a tw map before (not really what I do, lol.) didnt expect much from it, just to have something to try out. but hey vig, thats what trench war is like. dash over hills and get on your gut again, kill what ever jumps over toward you, then move up again. guess people went for gameplay/fun moreso than realism/challenging... lol, whatever.
