Bots and such for IRC chat
« on: May 21, 2007, 10:51:52 pm »
Hey fellas. Just a quick question on IRC bots and where I might be able to find (or learn to make) one. I was looking around a few sites and could come up with nothing specific to satisfy my tastes. I know you may not be interested in them but if anyone could please tell me how I could go about getting a hold of one and running it in the Red Vs. Blue IRC chat you would be a lifesaver.

Anything game(ish) like Russian Roulette, Diffuse the Bomb, irc txt rpg's, etc. is perfectly fine. A bot that can answer questions and communicate to my liking (i.e. like soldat's ini file you can edit to your liking, same thing with the bot's conversation and where it goes).

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Oh, I'm currently running IRC in ChatZilla, the Firefox plugin. I don't know if that interferes with the bots I can choose from, if so please tell me!

Might wanna look around for some mIRC scripts if you're under Windows.

A couple of good sites to find scripts at are:

http://www.hawkee.com
http://www.mircscripts.org/
http://www.mirc.net/

The biggest problem really is that if you host the bot on your local computer you'll need to keep it up for 24/7 (unless you want a 'part-time' bot).

well if you  have a shell  acc ;-) install  eggdrop on it
and equip him with some tcl scripts
http://www.egghelp.org/tcl.htm

or if you dont have shell acc. so "windrop"
http://windrop.sourceforge.net/

and for mIRC scripting I recommend DREAM bot v.5.0
