Communal IP Black Listing
« on: July 17, 2006, 03:54:56 pm »
I'm tired of all these script kiddies...

I know any preventive mesure you take there is a way around it or something new to exploit...

Why don't we compile a txt doc full of high profile IP's that we just perma ban?

Send in a demo recording of the hacker with IP or name and its added to the list!

Download the list weekly for your dedicated server and hazaa!

The idea of the Black List is a heavier deterent than being banned on 1 server, for there will always be more servers...

Ideas? Comments?

I do not support this because most people download hacks, but then they got banned from their favourite server and they regret using hacks and might want to start over. If the list would be cleared after a month, yes.

If they are going to download hacks, they are ether ignorant of the damage it does to the community or are just total assholes, just by downloading hacks they are supporting the destruction of the community and the game itself.

ye but people need second chances, what if a guy is immature and downloads hacks, he then see the light or something and becomes mature, then he decides to go play soldat and finds that he is banned from every server :/

The problem with this idea is that most of the broadband users have a dynamic IP. This means they get a new IP-adress each time they reconnect with the internet.

Other solutions should be searched :)

I agree to this.

I have 2 servers and I hate haxors.

But the problem I can think of is what if the ip's that are on the list are dynamic?
Is there a way just to ban the names of the players?
There are other worlds than these

Yes, but they can just change their name.
