Server-list question
« on: June 06, 2007, 08:20:06 pm »
Does anyone know EXACTLY which files control which version's server-list appears in "join game"?

1) so totally the wrong forum
2) it is hard-coded into Soldat.  The only way you can do it is by editing the binary which is
-illegal
- hard, since the thing you search for to replace probably has hundreds of occurences within Soldat, if not more.

The answer: you can't.  You can write a third-party program to query the lobby directly (once I finish the documentation on the public lobby interfaces), or you can look at http://rr.soldat.pl

The in-game lobby only shows the servers that match your version of Soldat because you won't be able to play on any servers that don't match your version anyway.

Even then if you did get it to list servers for 1.3.1 or something, you wont be able to play with the 1.4.1 client.

May I ask why?

Install 1.2.1 (or whatever you like the best), tell your friends to do it aswell, and connect directly to the IP.

Problem solved.
