Map with buildings and inside

I was wondering and playing with the idea to create maps with buildings on it (designed as you see them from the outside) and when you reach the door, you "enter" the house and can see the inside.

I thought this could be done with "rooms" script, but yet i didn't try to create such a map.

The inside would be isolated parts of the map, where normally players can't get, only with the rooms' teleporting.

Is anyone interested trying such a map or anything? If so, i'll try to create one or a few in the near future.

Maybe a good idea >if it's not used so often<
I would like it for Trenchwars as a Snipertower for example.
But i think it's impossible to code that.

well, you wouldn't be able to shoot out from a building with this, it may be possible to code, but it would be real pain in the arse...

Hmm, you gave me good idea..well hopefully good. That's an interesting idea. I tried to create that building sort of feeling in my Lil' Port Town map, but it didn't quite capture the feeling of being indoors...

Just put a teleporter in the door, which teleports you to a room high on your map, and the backgorund black... i will do a sketch... it wouldn't need any coding, but sure you can't shot in the house because is apart in the map.

The buildings, from inside would look like commando's ones, with black background.

Yeah I started making one as an example but never bothered to finish it. You can go ahead and check it out if you want though, map and script with coords attached. The map is mostly finished polygon-wise but there's no scenery, texture or colors.

Ah, but you need script to make teleporters? Isn't there any other way to do a teleporter?

With the exception of (ab)using polybugs (check out ctf_Warp); yes, that's the only way to properly do it.

I have been working on an idea already pertaining to this...ah shucks. Well, my map is just using polybugs. Thats the decent way to do it I guess eh? I have some pretty great ideas  but, I guess there won't be too much originality to it. Shoulda jumped on my ideas sooner. I won't stop making my map though. I bet these ideas have already been used anyway :-\.

Good luck to all you folks working on your maps etc. Anyone wanna have some unofficial map competition using the teleport idea?
