Can't control my soldier.
« on: July 03, 2007, 10:00:16 am »
Hello,

Since 1.4.1, sometimes when I play, I loose control of my soldier (and not only few times, a lot). Example he shoot, he use jet and I don't press anything, while it's bugged, I can't type exept if I hold "T" (default chat key). When I hold "T" the soldier stop using the jet and stop shooting but when I release it he continue. I uninstalled Soldat and it's do nothing, can you help me?

If you need more infos, just ask and I'll see.

Thank you,

Aniway.

That happens to me.
I just duck with my jets on and slowly move left or right, it stops when I click both left and right keys.

You could have also binded T to the same controls as flying or shooting, but you said you uninstalled, which would have reset all of your options... can you try looking again, though?

I find that usually happens at the start of a new round. Just press each of the corresponding keys to your symptoms, and it should go away... e.g., if you find yourself flying and shooting uncontrollably, left click to stop shooting and right click to stop flying. It works for me xD.

This happened to me before I got a new mouse... Since I got my new optical, it hasn't happened. Perhaps it's time for a new mouse?

Yeah I know how to stop it and it's working for me but in important matchs like clan war or duel it's not so fun when you need to click with your mouse and [exaggeration] at the same time click on 15 differents keys [/exaggeration].. Fyi my mouse is a Razer Habu and I only use the normal mouse button (right and left) when I play to Soldat. Maybe I'm just not accoutumed to use this mouse but I doubt that's the real reason.. ANY answers will be appreciate.

It might be a driver issue or some other conflict messing with the mouse, causing it to think buttons are pressed when they aren't; this also sometimes happens with wireless mice in particular, but from what I can gather your mouse is wired.

I think it happens when your jetting or shooting at the end of a round. It keeps going into the next round. So try to stand still before the match restarts.

It also happens to me when I get killed, if I was jetting before I got killed, then sometimes it'd carry on through the respawn.

This is exactly what happens to me occasionally. I've gotten a new mouse, but it was still happening with my old one. I think it happens when the round ends unexpectedly for the Soldat client (if that is possible?), Soldat doesn't detect that you're no longer pressing those buttons or keys. The way I fix it is to press the corresponding buttons and keys.

I think what should happen is that Soldat should clear the input at the start of every round.

I think I found the problem, before I respawn I always hold the jet button to start flying when I spawn.. Maybe it's the reason.. And yes my mouse is wired.

Ah cool. I always hate it when that happens because sometimes there's enemies in you're base and you cant defend yourself because your soldat is jetting by itself. But yeah, I think I also hold the jet button when I respawn.
