weapons list

ok, i need help with this. the problem is, is that im makeing a weapon mod, and for some reason, when i test it by runnig soldat with my mod, its not showing. her elet me explain.
     you know when you first start off in a level while playing soldat? you nkow the weapons lsit that comes uup fort you to select a weapon? thats the rpoblem. c, ive changed the weapons a bit, (ive only gotten around to 2) but im not done, but the pictures of the weapons are the same. ive changed tghere names, adn that HAS changed, and when you select one of the weapons that ive modded, whn your useing it or its on your back, you can see that its changed, but the picture for it on the weapons list isnt different. iv emodded all the stats for every wewapon maeking them different. ive also changed looks of some things, and text, but the pictures for the weapons on the weapons list isnt different. what file do i need to goto and change or something to fix this? please help, i think this mgiht b a pretty kool mod.

The weapons menu images are in Interface-gfx\Guns. 1 is Deagles, 2 is MP5, 10 is SOCOM, 0 is Minigun, fist is fist, etc.

but, i changed the ak 47 image tot he one i made, and it didnt work.....? do i need to have the whole folder interface gx? i jut copy and pasted the guns folder to it. ill check back this tonight going to play basket ball then gonig to the mall. (no im not a fing girl, im jsut buying some stuff for my moms birthday)

Your modded interface guns (that's what they're called) should be under this hierarchy of folders:

>Soldat
--------->Mods
---------------- >[Your Mod]
------------------------------->Interface-gfx
------------------------------------------------>Guns

ok, i got that, and it works, but the simbols are now like realy small. is there a way i can go into paint (i jsut go to start then paint to make guns) and actually blow up the picture? so that way it will save liek that? i have a feeling ppl would have a hrd time trying to see what there looknig at.

oh, and another thing, is ther eany program si can download to draw the weapons thats better then normal paint that comes on your comp?

If you're going to resize and stuff, work in PNG and use alpha. Otherwise, if you're Bitmapping, definitely do it in MS-Paint. MS Paint does have extremely crappy image sampling, so any resizing should be done with Photoshop or equivalent [the GIMP is an excellent alternative]. If they're tiny, you're better off redoing them. Some people choose to shrinkydink, that is, taking an actual image, cleaning it up, then resizing it down to proper size. If you do that, just make sure they are adjusted to be more contrasty and saturated so that they don't look greyish and dull in the end. Of course, if [IF, but like you said, you probably won't] you decide to release the mod with shrinkydinks, don't expect to win any awards with this community here.  ;)

well, i dont plan on usieng a shrinkydink (please put that in a form that explains what exactly that is), i might release it to my friends, has they are somewhat of fans for what i did for them on halo, and i might release it to ppl who want it. but other thenthat, not realy. but heres a Q that i still dont under stand. im gongi to go download one of the paint programs that mxysptlk suggest because i dont have them, but how if i used ms paiont, if i made a large picture, would i put that in a form small enough to be used for something like the weapons list or for a players hand. that way i could make it more detailed. i also might 1 or 2 sprites for these 2 weapons that are hard as hell to use. i dont know if the newer paint programs has that option, but ill look.

oh, ad i jsut typed in paint.net in my toolbar, i dont know if thats what it was intended for, but it came up some crap warren paint prducts and actuall paint. im looknig for computer programs.

yea. i just downloaded it. hers a problem. i just remade thew guns so there large enough to be viewed on the we menu, but the standard background color that most of them come on is light green (you know when you go to edit the pics). the problem is that the green is actually showing up in the background on the weapons list. how would i fix that? what color does it need to be?

The green you have to use is hex #0000FF, be sure thats the one you are using.

ok. i jsut encounterd a problem (again lol) (oh and thx) but, i was jsut testuing out what i have done so far, by running soldat modded. i noticed my weapons and bullets looks were changed, but, the stats were not. i went into the weapons ini earlier, changed the names of the weapons (i thoguht you had to, do i need to change them back for it to read it?) and i changed the text names. what do i need to refix so the stats work. the guns shoot like the original  versions, i have changed the stats to my likeings. should i change the names on the weapons ini back to normal for it tot read it or something?

ok, nvm about the colors. i went over to another pic, sampled the green and brought it back. and for your refrence for in the future, iuts 00ff00. but i still gotta figur eout how to change the stats and make them count.

If you want to change the stats of a gun, leave its original name and any other variables it has next to it, and just change the values. EG:

ok, thanks. i just figured that out b 4 u posted, but thanks. i think i jsut about have all the information.... wait never mind. what folder do i have to change (for future reference) to change what your player will actualy look like?

ok, i jsut found something im not sure of. i was edititn gthe weapons looks, and i found a weapon called a colt. what is a colt? ive never seen a colt1911 in the game...?

Colt1911 = USSOCOM pistol. The weapon used to be the Colt M1911 .45 pistol back in the days.
