Registration Questions
« on: June 26, 2007, 06:32:21 pm »
To end a lot of the "refer to MM" posts, I will help you all with about 40% of the Reg questions.

- First of all, if you have DSL then your Registration code may or may not work. As most of us know, DSL tends to change computer's IP due to reconfiguration in the connection.

- If you signed up with the wrong name, you Cannot change it Manually because it's programmed with your IP. if you ask MM he might be helpful enough to change it for you.

- If you lose your Registration data and can't get it back, Ask MM to give you a new Registration code with the Name you used to sign up @ Digital Candle.

I hope this Information will reduce the amount of Posts in this section and will raise the amount of Registered players. Have a nice day.  ;D ;D ;D

EDIT: As said below, If you re-format your computer your IP may change w/ DSL before you can reenter your code, meaning it won't work. SO if you recently Re-formatted, and you have DSL. Check to see if your Reg code works, if not refer to MM and save bandwidth.

Uhhhh, I'm pretty sure the registration is not linked in any way to your IP address. You just pay, he sends you the code, you put it in, and it makes your soldat a registered copy. Unless I'm totally wrong on this one, but I don't think so.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I know that the use of a registration key can be monitored, but it's not really 'linked'.

Also, a DSL connection does not necessarily mean that you have a dynamic IP address. I've had DSL for years and my IP has never changed because of 'reconfiguration in the connection'.

I believe the only one of your points that is actually correct is the third one, which is useful I guess.

True, but DSL is known to fool with IP addresses. Also, if you Re-format your computer, and your IP changes before you can put your code it, it fails for most people. I'm not saying for all, but that really narrows it down.

I doubt most people will take the time to read the post above.
