Quakenet, Gathers, and So on.

I may have been playing Soldat for almost 2 years, but I just now started to get active in clans and all these things.
What is quakenet? What are Gathers? How are these things ran?

quakenet is I guess the server all soldat irc channels are based from. Gathers are games that are started in irc in the gather channels.

#soldat.gather I believe, a few other ones... you can ask around for the one you should join depending on where you live.

Quakenet and Gathers and Clans OH MY!

 simply put Quakenet is IRC Gathers are like pubs with the stupid and bad filtered out, and clans can range a lot.

Chat rooms are strange things. You can't waltz into one and expect conversation...instead, its better to idle in one, and next time you sit at the pc, have a look around and see who's talking. S'what most others do anyhow.

But yeah, you'll find the (self proclaimed) 'core' of the Soldat community - all nations and colours spanning dozens of different channels - are on and organised on irc.

By the way, the gather channel on quakenet is #sna.gather, well for north american ones anyways, but I don't think there's another one.

You are probally not going in at the right time. Most of teh weekend sna is a gathering machine.

Plus, it's for gathering, every time I've gone in there there's been at least one gather going.
