Linux is notoriously bad for Wireless connections not working. Only a select few wireless cards work right now and even getting them to work is difficult. I did the exact same thing you did. I'm being totally honest with you. Your only chance is to do some research and maybe come up with a wireless card or adapter that's known to work in Linux, but your chances of getting it to work even then are iffy at best.
What is your wireless network name an what is your WEP key?
