Soldat Lingo
« on: July 01, 2007, 06:11:21 am »
Is there a wiki page I can look up the important Soldat lingo? I was able to work out EFC and FFC from the terms page, but what are some of the others? Note, it would help new players if the page also listed terms in their abbreviated form, and categorised into important, and other (or some variants).

Well, INC means INComing anyway.

@Kryp -- go buy some skills. use /command to bring up the commands.

What do you consider important Soldat lingo then? Write some of it here and somebody might fill that list up a bit.

Checking the taunts page, I would say the following:
EFC - low, middle, high
FFC - "
FFF (friendly free flag) - "
EFF (enemy free flag) - "
INC - "
Base hot
Clear

-- Not sure on list
Attacking - low, mid, high?
Enemy base? ebase? eb?

My little explanation:

Quote
EFC - low, middle, high
The enemy flag carrier is escaping via that route.
Quote
FFC - low, middle, high
The friendly flag carrier is incoming via that route.
Quote
FFF (friendly free flag)
The friendly flag is lost (not picked up but not in its home base) in that route.
Quote
EFF (enemy free flag)
The enemy flag is lost in that route.
Quote
INC
Incoming enemies from a specific route.
Quote
Base hot
Your team's base is "hot", i.e. there are enemies in its immediate vicinity.
Quote
Clear
A route/position is clear of enemies.
Quote
Attacking - low, mid, high
"I will attack via this route and then stick to it".

Some people also say "Base Captured", which is kinda the same thing as "Base Hot". The difference is that the enemies captured the base, no friendlies around to protect it.

@Kryp -- go buy some skills. use /command to bring up the commands.

Also, I often warn my team about spawnkillers and snipers.

Thanks Toumaz. I thought you meant write down the important ones to consider editing the wiki. I read the terms and taunts page to work out the important ones, what they meant, and then posted them here :)

Would you agree this forms a core list of important commands?

Yeah I was but I couldn't be arsed editing the Wiki just now :/

Aye, even though there are a few more "reporting taunts" out there. Let me share some of mine :Q

^Prepare to cap!
Useful if you're about to return your team's flag to alert the FFC about it, so the flag score may be done faster.

^Low HP / ^Full HP
Queer little thing that I use after incoming reports. An enemy with low health might be worth an attempt to spray down a bit... and it's just generally good information.

There's also the generic "Roger" and "Done"/"Dealt with". Think you can figure those out yourself. :)

You'll usually want to tell teammates where incoming enemies are coming from. I as a flagcarrier have gotten screwed by this so many times because the teammates don't tell me where enemies are coming from, I go to the wrong place at the wrong time and boom.

Personally though, I don't actually set these to taunts, I just type them out, it only takes about half a second. I like the original taunts too much to change them.
