Display issues?
« on: June 29, 2007, 12:29:12 pm »
I've tried the method listed in the FAQs, but when I try only Video Compatibility it tells me DirectX can't initiate and to try Compatibilty mode, even though I'm already using it.

I can only access the menus with Force Software initiated, but whenever I attempt to play the game I get the same blank screen, and can only hear the sound effects.

I've tried a mix of everything by now ; Video C. / Force S., Only Video C., Only Force S., but none of them work. I've changed my resolution to support the 16-bit but the results aren't different.

I have checked my DirectX ( 9.1 ) and tested every component and it has read no errors.

Basically I've done everything in FAQs, and what I know from past problems. Does anyone know any other methods or knows what causes this problem? I've done all in my power to try and figure this out but I can't.

Thanks for your time.

What are your system specs? Your RAM, Processor, and Video Card may be useful to add in here.

I have, they don't seem to need updating.

My specs are the same from the last time I used Soldat, the only difference is my OS. Before I had WinME and now I have Win2000 Pro.

Jesus, WinME and Win2000, what are you on? :P

Well since the only thing that's changed is the OS, that would seem to be a likely source of the problem. I'm not sure what problems Win2000 would have with soldat having never used it. However, have you tried running Soldat in the compatibility mode? (I don't mean the compatibility thing in the soldat config, I mean the Windows compatibility option, where you can run applications like you're using a different version of the OS.)
