I believe that it is in this forum's interest to know what goes on in the head of an agnostic, rather than trendhoes, pirates and santa claus. Ask me anything.

As I understand it, it's someone who has a general belief in some sort of higher power but doesn't really care about what the higher power's agenda is and is fine with just living their life without a religion.

This is different from Atheism in that Atheism is more actively against there being any sort of God or higher being.

There isn't reason to believe without information.

I'm sick and tired of these threads. If anyone wants to know anything about your religion they can just go to google and wikipedia.

There isn't much to ask an agnostic, right? since it just means "person who doesn't know". And you know what... if that was the real definition of an agnost... wouldn't we all be agnosts? I mean... A lot of people believe there's a god, and a lot of people believe there isn't... but does anyone know? Anyway... agnosts can't really answer any question about religion, since they're all like "could be" and "I'm not sure"

Agnostics puzzle me really...

Because if I was Agnostic I wouldn't be content with not having made my mind up.. and not knowing what's going on in the universe. I'd want to know, and I'd be striving to find an answer.

I think alot of religious people are secretly Agnostic, in that they are in doubts about their religion and that they only really adhere to their religion to keep their family who do believe happy.

Were you brought up to be Agnostic? Are your parents Agnostic? Do you believe in Evolution?

Agnotstics arent content with not knowing, they jsut accept the fact that noone can know.

Well said.

I would like to just stick to one religion, but I can't see any reason other than tradition to chose Christianity over Islam or Buddism etc. So I'm agnostic.

The rest of my close family are Christian, yet according to online religion tests (should I really take those seriously?) I'm more Muslim or Baha'i  ::)

Question...
Do agnostics believe in a heaven/hell or any sort of life after death?
