Silk Road...yes or no?

So my friend stumbled upon Silk Road Online (and it's new European Expansion which gives you the choice of playing as a European and the ability to be a rogue or warrior...i guess) and I was just wondering if it really is all that it's cracked up to be. A few of my friends from school play it and I hear from them that its like a free version of WoW...though I highly doubt that seeing as you can't get a mount and ride around...or can you?
Who recommends I download it? Any previous players or current players of the game that would lend me suggestions/comments on your experience and its worth?

You can get a "mount" at level 10, and you can get increasingly faster/stronger ones as you progress through the levels.
It's pretty dull from my point of view. The quests are so repetitive it's unbelievable. The quests are basically comprised of one of the following things: kill N number of X creature, collect N number of P items from X creature, or deliver this item to Y town. It will be fun for a short while, and you might be able to get a couple of months of enjoyment out of it, but the constant hack and slash to collect 500 items from a creature that drops them one in fifty is just overwhelmingly boring after a while, and the community is mostly filled with complete idiots, though you will find a few nice people here and there.
I played a long while ago, so perhaps the European expansion addresses a few issues and makes it a bit more exciting, but I won't waste time downloading it right now because I can't see it being much different. As far as free MMORPGs go, it's not so bad, but if you don't mind paying a few bucks, just play WoW or Guild Wars. I found them both much more fun than Silkroad Online, and at least they add a bit of variation now and again.

I don't like games that make you level up. i like games that require skill like Soldat.

EVERY Free2play MMORPG just sucks. What is the point in collecting ultra rare drops and slaying mobs with friends, when one can just spend $10 on the game and get everything for that? >_>
It is a bit like that you send MM a $10, he will give you 5% damage boost in Soldat. Send him another $10 and you gain 2% speed boost for one month. $100 gives you 25% more health, 10% damage boost and 7% more speed and vest for one month.
Interested? No.

The game is crap.
If you want to play something of the kind, try RFO. It's similar, but a bit better. They even have something like CTF there.

I would say don't get it. It was fun at the start with nice graphics and the likes. However the quests are extremely useless. Kill x amount of this monster.
Or, for a change. Get x amount of this object.....which is obtainable only by killing this monster.
It gets very repetitive and boring. Unless you're really into that stuff, don't get it.

I'm going to take a look at RFO, never heard of it to be honest. I used to be a fan of Knight Online until recently when they patched it like crazy and added a bunch of extras that turned me away. I guess I could always stick with WoW to quench my rpg thirst...and soldat for fps

Here's my 2 bits. It would be pretty good as free games go, but the game is boring becuase how it is built. You HAVE to either go all strength or all intelligence to be any good "Hybrids" can't kill crap becuase, if I rememver correctly, it is exponential on how you grow or something. And, the max lvl is 50 I think, but it takes 4 hours to go from 20-21, so that gives you an idea of what it takes for 40-41. So, no, free MMO's aren't worth it. Although, a game I haven't played becuase the requirements are really high is Two Moons, but I haven't played it so I don't know.

Max level is 70. They may even have raised it to 80 following the European update.
