PW Depth Map
« on: August 25, 2007, 10:17:36 pm »
What does it do and how do you use it?

the help manual for PW only says : Click and drag to edit the depth map (z-coordinates). If there are vertices selected only those will be affected. Hold alt to get a depth colour from a vertex. Hold ctrl to move the current selection.

I think u use it to arrange which poly u want to be on top. z coordinate i think is the 3rd dimension, but obviously im not really sure, I think it's kinda unnecessary, but id be interested to know for sure too

Its used with the lighting tool.
I dont use it much, because I think whenever I do it it's too obvious, but I've seen some really good use of it.

It's a very, very good tool which helps you a lot and with only a few seconds, it do what you do in 20 minutes (Shading). Per example, if you have a sun and you want a yellow color in all polygons just put it in the sun, and you will get yellowish colors. I used it a a few maps. But is more easier (In buildings) shade you them. It's just what I know about the lights, ask Anna for more information :P
