Soldat-files.net
« on: March 12, 2007, 05:05:20 am »
Hi everyone. I have started a new project here: http://www.soldat-files.net The idea is not so much to direct link your files as the links are very long, even though  it is possible. The idea is for people to have a place where they can find and download all their Soldat files. You can download without being registered but you need to register to upload files, also private folders, http uploads, viewing inside .zip files without downloading and making of your own directories is supported. Unfortunately only 8 MB max file size is currently possible.

ps: I had to terminate soldatuploads.com due to abuse.

Very nice :) I'm going to keep my Soldat creations on this server :) But 8 MB might be to little for full mods.

Thanks, yeah I know 8 MB maybe too little but I am currently on a shared host and they don't want to increase the upload limit :(

I guess it is worth mentioning here to everyone... please upload your maps and mods to multiple places.  There are various reasons for this:
1) If one ever disappears, there are other places that people can find your stuff.
2) It gives more people a chance to download your things

Remember that you can attach anything under 2MB to a post on these forums (up to 4 files per most, so 8MB), and these are clearly not going anywhere any time soon.  It is sad when people are like "where can I find this map?" or "where can I find this mod?"

My two cents, carry on ;)

Uh, Leo?  It is impossible to activate new accounts.  Clicking the link sent in the activation e-mail just takes me to the homepage, and whenever I try to login it tells me the account is still not activated

No activation needed now, I think it's a bug in the software.

Soldat will rule the intrawebz!

People could make the rar archives in more parts. Anyway there aren't so many big mods out there. This is a small game...

This could be used with soldat page to have the files uploaded on multiple places. Also filefront is a good place to upload files. Don't know if flab aproves that tho :P

I have installed new software for the site. Simple upload that supports upload progress bar and direct download links. There were a few files from old site that I have re-upload.
