Stuff I dont understand (IMPORTANT!)
« on: September 05, 2007, 08:29:15 pm »
Ok so i figured out that i did not have the latest dedicated server so I went and download it then when I went to check the readme it says...

GO AND A GET URSELF THE ADMIN THINGAMABOB(OR JIG) .

So i went and get one ( I got remote advance admin or something like that)

Next thing I did was to go to my soldat ini and change the admin pass

1)My first question is later on, do we use this ingame to call myself or what and how do you calll that?

 :) ;) [retard] :P
   Ok lets move on
afterwards, I clicked on the soldat server button (2)am I supposed to do that onorderto open my dedicated server?) and then this dos file pops up and so I guessed that means my server was up and running.

So I open the Adv Remote admin and connect so then I was wonder how do I join my own server? when I clicked on the join command it opens a dedicated version of soldat and when I click on my normal soldat icon it guives me a dedi

AND NOW I REINSTALLED SOLDAT BECAUSE NOONE REALLY GAVE A GOOD TUTORIAL OF SETTING UP A SOLDAT SERVER WITH SCRIPT!!!!

REQUEST: Could someone please make a proper tutorial for morons/idiots/noobs like me and on how to use the admin stuff too? PLEASE I'M KIND OF BEGGING YOU GUYS.  I've been pondering about it for the last week and i cant take it and today's my bday and im opissed (this was not nweeeded but i would like to mention so)

NOTE: If ANYONE responds to this request thank you! It means the world to me. another thing is Thank you -Major- for trying to teach me how to set up a server and enesce for trying to help me to. :'( :-[ :)

Read this: http://wiki.soldat.nl/Server

To start the dedicated server, only double click the soldatserver.exe once. If you want it to stay up and running, don't close the dos prompt.

Use ARRSE to admin (change map, change game mode, kick players, add bots, etc.) your server.
In it, use 127.0.0.1 for the ip address and for admin password, use the admin password you added to the soldat.ini

once your dedicated server is up and running, minimize it, open the main soldat program (Soldat.exe) and join your server with the ip 127.0.0.1 with the port 23073, if you didn't change it.

(there's really no reason to yell. we would all appreciate it if you just calmed down)

If you want to install the trenchwar Domination script, all you have to do is to download it and extract it to the soldatserver folder. The one I checked comes with a script and a bot folder, so it should work that way. Check that you have a new subfolder inside scripts and the bot commander or whatever it is inside the bots folder.
Then you restart the server. To play, run soldat and use 127.0.0.1 for IP, as jrgp said.
