What if in Soldat we had crates that when you shoot with a weapon like the M79 they moved because of the explosion. That would make it seem a little more realistic.

I think movable scenery is the same as movable polygons which is sstated in the rules to not suggest....and no it would take too much time/code to make and probably lag people with slow computers.
And as the lyrics go in the United State's national anthem: "America, f**k YEAH!".

It's been suggested and it wasn't even close to winning. It would be pretty cool, but then again, it wouldn't. Waaay too messy, if you ask me.

Basically, if this was possible it would be added asap. Everyone wanted it, but with Soldat's map code it just. Can't. Be. Done.

Not that it can't be done, but as echo_trail suggested, it would be too messy. Remember how many nades, explosions, and bullets are constantly flying across the screen. Imagine the crates bouncing on the bullets, seemingly floating in the air. Not real realistic.

In single-player offline mode, pickups can be knocked around by bullets and explosions. This doesn't happen online because of lag issues, I believe. Scenery or other objects wouldn't be any different.

I just pictured someone getting axed in the face with a crate. Good times XD

Too much coding time and the current format couldn't support this.

This would require a physics engine to be implemented into Soldat - which would take alot of time. It also would remove the classic Soldat 'feel' as well. I'd rather have the developers concentrate on more useful stuff than being able to shoot boxes around...

As much as this would make Fistbox even more endlessly entertaining, it's asking for trouble. Implementing moveable scenery objects that respawn after not being touched for long enough...that'd be a bitch to script. Especially if they act as player-colliding polys. You could fill chokepoints with them and shit; be hella annoying for other players. F11
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.
