WoW private servers. Offline?

hey i was wondering if it was possible to make a Wow private server and have it run offline.because if you make your own you run it off you IP. i need this cuz my computer dosent have internet all the time and i want to play wow.

Isn't that a violation of the terms of service? The whole point of the game is to make you pay their outrageous monthly subscription.

Yeah this is of questionable legality I believe... but hey I linked to gateway for a while so I can't really say anything... And you don't the game when you buy it... you are just buying the right to play it legally.

It's possible. Done it myself but there wasn't really anything to the game so I deleted everything.

I can't believe that I actually payed for that game just to find out that it sucked. Now I can't even continue playing if I want and the money is lost for 2weeks of playing. Guild Wars is so much better.

you can't play the game unless you pay their subscription. or be illegal, which would be against the forum rules. If I knew how to do it, I wouldn't tell you.

The subscription isn't for the game, it is to play online on their servers with everyone else.  you're paying for the network of players (both in a technical and social sense).  I'm not 100% sure whether or not trying to play offline on a fake server kinda thing breaks their ToS, but IMO it should be allowed.  I know people have made their own server apprs for other MMORPGs that aren't supposed to be able to played apart from their uberservers.

Flab I know for a fact that mentioning private servers in Ultima Online gets your account banned. I know this because I know someone that ran one.

I remember the hackers who got sued for breaking the copyright when they made free servers that players could play on. That seems very much like this.
