Weapon alignment

Let's say that I'm using a mod which has a halo 3 fuel rod cannon*COUGH*HALO 3.5*COUGH*
The weird thing is, that in the actual game you hold the handle to fire it :P. in the mod, you hold it by the clip. in halo the gun is shoulder mounted, how do I make it so that it is mounted on the shoulder instead of that ugly clip grip. Sorry, never post alot here so I don't know if its the right section.

Nope, unless you mod the POA file, which then you can't play online.

Or just put it higher in weapons-gfx files but it can feck up the look. With high amount of work it's possible without changing the animations. (it also depends of that how big the weapon is.)

There's only one animation for how you hold weapons... so if there's any weapons in a mod that are held unconventionally.. they'll look like they're being hugged.

Same goes for the LAW in soldat... in real life it's fired over the shoulder but you fire it like a rifle in soldat.

You should always try to avoid modifying the dimensions of any in-game graphics whenever possible to avoid shifts. At least, on the Y-axis. X-axis stretches don't affect things much as far as I know.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

you CAN play with changed animations. They just need to have the same number of frames and duration I think. I know that you can play with ivab's knife stabbing animation online.

Will's right, that's the catch. So long as the frame count stays the same, you should be fine.

Not quite, there are certain things that you can't modify at all, like the jump and the roll. If you even touch those, you''ll be unable to play online.
