ctf_Memblem [Updated]
« on: June 21, 2008, 08:04:44 pm »
Here is a map that I've been working on for the past months.  Not that it took long to create, just not enough time at once.  I find this to be my best work, if ctf_Glory or ctf_Smuggle aren't.

Original layout and has an opening which allows you explore the roof.  Tried to make it so that it isn't symmetrical and both sides have advantages.  I think it's quite even and should play very well, best with large numbers of players like Leo's CTF for example.

Update:
Fixed the Access Violation Error, have no idea what could have caused it, but it's at least fixed.

Please don't tell me you rated your own map a one -.-

If it wasn't yourself, whoever did it, unless they had reason to, was a douche (yea, rather unlike me to say something like that...). Eh, I guess it's been fun critiquing your maps. You've been mapping some pretty awesome stuff lately. I don't ever really remember a time when you mapped crap, because you never really did. Maybe I just feel like thinking very much right now..

The obvious complaint most people will have is the unbalance in height of the flags, but the particularly placed islands will make up for that. I like the overall look of the map. The shading really fits with the background. Obviously you made it to be thus.

Eh, nice work so far. You've been mapping some nice defaultish map lately. //offtopic// I still need to release my maps :( //offtopic//

Thinktourself deleted his comment, that's what Spec replied to.

And that's the weirdest 'traditional' assimetric layout I've seen this year for sure. Kampf meets nuubia at the taxidermy.

The opening in the top is probably bad for camping, unless it's blocked of course which would take the feeling of open freedom out of the map completely :/

The whole map looks nice, good work on it!

It's a great map except for the runner route and some camper spots

My biggest concern with this map is that Alpha's flag is placed behind the player spawns and therefore is more protected than Bravo's flag, which is hanging out in the open with the player spawns far away from it.

Agree with E_A. I can see alpha advantages everywhere but no bravo advantages... This looks like dm map with flag spawns :S

You were a great inspiration to me, so I dedicated to many of my maps to your style.  Hell, even at one point was going to make 6 maps, each dedicated the Noble Gas Map Pack.  Started on ctf_Krypton, but never got a chance to finish it.

I don't really ever seeing it be finished, released the sketch at the Drawing Board.  I sort of given up on mapping, due to lack of motivation.  I also am lacking faith in the community itself and I only see Soldat in getting worse and worse.  The only thing that actually keeps me here is the arrival of the 1.5 Beta.  If that turns out to become a clone of 1.4 in terms of bugs, it'll be the last time anyone will ever see me here.

I might make one more map, otherwise it'll be my very last.

^ You said that a long time ago. :P

This looks more like a FFA map to me.

^ You did say that a while back...yet you are still around, eh? I've said the very same thing several times, but never have actually left. Now I've termed my occasional leaving, "Interchangeable personal interests."

Well, I guess if you do happen to actually leave: Cya mate.
