So, my girlfriends hand-me-down guitar is getting on my nerves, can't tune it properly, and it just sounds like shit. So, I'm looking to buy a totally new guitar from which I can learn on.
I want an accoustic guitar, cheap, and from anywhere in Australia (don't you dare tell me to go on ebay). If you can point me to a webstore for decent cheap accoustics in Australia, you will win my heart.

Not worth it on the one I have. Its older than me, and has more problems with it than Chakras mum (no offence).

so a string change isn't worth it, but a completely new guitar is?

over here guitars cost 170 euros (this is the crappiest possible guitar that is still playable) and up, whereas strings cost 5 to 11 euros.

this is 275 aud compared to 8-17 aud.

edit: oh maybe you mean it has a huge gaping hole in the back or it's shaped like a dong?

From what he's describing it sounds like the tuning pegs are screwed and/or the neck might be warped?

if you want an expensive one go for a MUSTANG
but for around 400 AUD you can get a Scheter which is awesome

actually... I think you shouldn't be looking for a webshop... every city has a store that sells guitars.... just try to find one in whatever town you live close to, go to that store, and look around. Ask the salespeople about lowpriced guitars, and if they can help you get a decent guitar with a high quality/price value. You should see, feel and hear a guitar before you buy it... I bought a guitar through thomann.de, but I won't ever do it again... The guitar I got was good... very good, but I just want to pick the EXACT guitar I want....
