HTF/(T)DM Teruel

Been quite a long time since I made a map, since I actually actively played Soldat. As there is (temprorarily?) no more proxy and a faster internet connection in my student's home I startet fiddling around again. However, I don't play Soldat very often and my skills have dropped to a very average level. That's why I decided to "make friends" with PolyWorks (I used MMPlus until then) and it works out for me now. Except for shading, where still good old MMPlus is the tool of my choice.

The result for now is Teruel, a (T)DM and HTF compatible map that resembles a bit to Arena but is smaller and has a different theme. Teruel is a province in the northern east of Spain that gave me the colours of the map (as far as I got them right from Google Image Search). The sceneries used should all be default ones.

You can play 1v1 on this map, but I recommend at least 4 or 6 and up to 10 players. HTF should work out nicely, TDM aswell, but with 2 teams only. The spawns support 4 teams thoguh, but I don't think that all 4 teams are well balanced in terms of spawn point placement.

There are no waypoints, if anyone wants to add them he/she is invited to do so and PM me afterwards. I'd rerelease the map then, with credits for the waypointer of course ;)

Good to see you back grand_diablo.

As for the map, I must that it is well constructed.  Layout is quite simple and works best for deathmatch based games, I can't say the same for Hold the Flag.  The layout does suit Hold the Flag, but due to the openness in this map, I think it'll be too easy a game.  I'm not sure how to explain it properly.  Visuals are always good like your previous maps.  It does look similar to Boxo's shading and color choices.  Spawn placement also is well placed, unlike most Hold the Flag maps that bunch each team on one side together, this has a star-pattern.

Overall, this could be one of your best works for a Hold the Flag map.
