Hell no, battleye will detect that you guys are friends and kick both of you out of the server.

edit: ...and I'm the one with a warning because of spamming?

Yes. It's possible to create a password protected server so you and anyone that knows the password can join. If you have issues with BattlEye then just disable it seeing as you're going to play with ppl you know/trust.

Yep, this is possible and easily set up.
Hell no, battleye will detect that you guys are friends and kick both of you out of the server.
That's only if you're both playing online at the same time with the same reg key. (if you purchase a regisration key, never give it to anyone and only have it installed on your own computer)

This is how you do what you need to do (I'm assuming your on Windows):

(a lot of questions you may have can be answered here: http://wiki.soldat.nl/Server)

1) Download the Soldat Dedicated Server, unzip that package into a folder, but NOT your client Soldat folder, eg: not c:\Soldat or c:\Program Files\Soldat. This may be a good folder for it to be c:\Soldat_Server

2) Open up the Soldat.ini file in notepad (or your favorite plain text editor) and configure it how you like, read this on how to do that: http://wiki.soldat.nl/Soldat.ini

3) Open the mapslist.txt file in notepad (or your favorite plain text editor) and place the names of the maps you want on each line, don't put a .PMS after each name.

4) Forward the ports Soldat needs to be open for other players to connect on your router (if you've got one): http://wiki.soldat.nl/Port_Forwarding

5) When you are inside your c:\Soldat_Server folder (or wherever you extracted the zip) double click the soldatserver.exe icon once. A black window will open. Feel free to minimize it, but don't close it unless you and your friend have finished playing.

6) When you open the soldatserver.exe, a firewall you might have will probably ask if you want to let soldatserver.exe have access to the internet and act as a server, tell it yes and to remember the option.

7) Go here to make sure you have forwarded your ports correctly: http://server1.enesce.com/ptest.php , if not, make sure you forwarded your ports correctly.

That should be it.

When you want to play, open the soldatserver.exe. To join from your computer, open Soldat, go to the join game tab, for the server IP, put localhost, and your game password (Not the admin password) in the password box. Then click Join game. For your friend's computer, put your computer's IP address (the one with the Soldat server set up) in the IP Box and the password in the password box, then click Join Game.

(to find your IP address, on the computer with the Soldat server set up, go to http://whatismyip.com That will tell you.)

I really hope this helps you out, feel free to ask any questions you may have.

you can also just start one server, that isn't dedicated. just go to the optinos menu (in game). press LAN in network, disable register in lobby. put a password if you want to.

then you do Start>Run>type: 'cmd' (without single quote)>type: 'ipconfig' (without single quote)>write your IP-Address down.

now get your friend to go to lobby. type in your IP address, and using the default port, and if needed, insert password. and press join game

this above is the easiest way to play a LAN game (you can even join the game from the same computer if you're going to test things).

EDIT: if you wish to play on internet go to: http://whatismyip.com/ and insert that IP into the IP-Address box. you may still disable "register in lobby server" and use the LAN setting to join by internet (or atleast that worked like 1-2 years ago).

LAN will not work unless his friend(s) are connected to the LAN so he can use Internet but uncheck the register in lobby if he doesn't want his server to show up.

I am pretty sure it works with LAN. the only difference they does (what I think) is that the server registration is in the LAN lobby instead of the Internet lobby. but hey, last time I tried that was in... 1.2.1 or 1.3.

Simple Answer

1) Go to www.whatismyip.com and tell your friend the number

1) Go to options in Soldat game.

Connection: Internet
Register In Lobby: No
Game Name: Whatever you want
Password: Whatever you want

And then change all the other settings.

Then go back to start game and pick a map, gamemode, and press start.

3) Now, remember that number from step 1? Tell your friend: Put it in the Game Server IP Box for the Port put 23073 and for the password, put whatever you decided.

Finally, tell him to press join game and you guys should see each other.

Example:

ok. end.
