Gosteks holding their weapons
« on: April 10, 2008, 10:37:25 am »
Hi, long time lurker, first time poster here.  Dont know if this is the place for it but i have a question:
Why do the weapons look fine when your character is facing left, but become too low down when you face right?  Is there anything you can do the wpn gfx to rectify this, as its bugging the hell out of me.

Any help is appreciated

Nothing except make then smaller, unfortunately.

You realize that's the choice of the server owner, right?

Just so your informed: There are assholes on the internet. Let that sink in for about 15 seconds. Okay, now what you gotta do is look for the good parts of the soldat community. For realistic public servers I suggest "Leos Realistic (inf, ctf, etc)", or for realistic trenchwars "Enesce Trenchwar". There seems to be more mature sane people in realistic, plus its funner.

Ok cool, it was just annoying to get booted for no reason, i thought i would have left all that behind with COD4 :)

I suppose its the frustration that you cant do anything about it is what riles me up.  I'll follow your advice and look for trenchwars.

Check out Leos Realistic aswell, its the server I play most, I usually only play trenchwars when Leos is empty. And screw COD4, Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 is where its at.

Keep in mind that thousands of people play this game, the majority of whom are idiots.

Errm...

I don't know. But I only know that this is a very serious problem in particular, for the chainsaw. The fire and chainsaw gfx are very awkward when made in mods.

Other than the chainsaw, the left and right gfx shouldn't be a problem for other weapons.

Wrong-o. Changing the size of any of the in-game graphics can create alignment problems. I don't know the specifics, but it happens. That's why it's best to avoid modifying the vertical height of those graphics. At least for the weapons; it's different for the gosteks.
To sum up my point: We had a multipage debate about toilet padding. (Putting TP in the water so you don't get splashed.)
And we still don't know if dead guys can keep a stiffy.

you can't really do anything about this. it's just the fact that everything is too small and pixels cant be cut in half.

ok then, how would i make the weapons higher in relation to the Gostek's hands, as i would prefer them a pixel too high as opposed to a pixel too low, as they are now.  FYI i use spec ops 2.0 as the mod im working off.
