How do you make a Race map?

I just wanna know before i make a race map and screw it up i wanna know some details on how a race map should be like.Can anyone tell me?

To make a race map...

Have alpha team AND bravo team start at the same point.

Create the map (should have many obstacles)

Have both alpha and bravo flags at the same point.

Now, which ever team gets to the flags first wins.
