I somewere heard (Its a trustworth sorce i know that.). That gamma particles (may be pictured as beams in situasions) whit a certain amount of energy, though not enough to get trew an thin obsticle, bounce back. from the surfice of the obsticle. Easy you think. However. If theres 1 particles hitting the surfice at the same time, or a particle whit just a inch from not getting over, It will suddenly appear on the other side of the obsticle. (Dont bother aboute the mesurement problem has nothing to do whit this)
As if it had teleported.

Why does it do that?

(I think asking questions whats this tread is all about)

Could you please restate the question in a clearer manner?

I'd also like the point out again, panzer did not describe obscurantism correctly.

Gamma rays have such high energy levels (due to the nuclear reactions required to create them) that they go through flipping everything before they run out of that energy. Gamma rays are pretty much pure energy. A gamma ray 'with a certain amount of energy' is a contradiction in itself.

actually you've contradicted yourself
you said they were PURE ENERGY and then say they run out of their energy, but maybe I'm misreading this, but what you are saying pretty much reinforces that gamma rays have a certain amount of energy

probably what you were trying to say was that the energy fluctuates so much that you can't really give it a CERTAIN VALUE, rather a range of values that it can be!

and by the way mr snow gamma is not a particle it's an electromagnetic wave, so it goes through the particle(well techincally it goes around the SPACES BETWEEN particles but you know what I mean)
I will abolish socialistic experiments like the post office and the sewage system

Sorry my post migth have been wrong. It was some kind of rays and as i recalled it was gamma. Migth have been alfa-rays but i dont think so because they'r too weak.
and by the way mr snow gamma is not a particle it's an electromagnetic wave, so it goes through the particle(well techincally it goes around the SPACES BETWEEN particles but you know what I mean)
Nope. They'r the similare to sunlight (Fótons) they can be both particles and waves. Einstein proved that.
All I know is that only assholes don't bother with checking if the thread is actually a million years old.
Sorry thougth it was new/melticore in age.
Dam yoo despair.

And what i was saying was that the particles appears on the other side of the obsticle even tough they should have passed trew it. As if they jumped.

Are you speaking about the famous Rutherford's Gold Foil experiment?

No im not but thats pretty similare. I whould find the show (it was on some TV channel) if only it wasnt from sweden.

And i just got another question.
Why are your post count so low when you have 82 pages of posts here?
I guess its some moderators "fault".

Well if your talking about Rutherford, it is because some of the particles hit the nucleii of the gold, but most of it passed through the empty space between the atoms. *illustration* If in a major league baseball stadium home plate was the nuclues, the first electron shell would be in the stands, and there are as many as 13 (I think) shells.
