My Guide To Not Being "Noob".
« on: May 30, 2008, 10:22:56 pm »
Well, I believe that mostly when people are called "noob" (even though I don't like that word), it's not due to their playing skill.  And it shouldn't be too cause everyone has had their experience of being "new".  So here's a few things that in my opinion should be followed.

1) Show respect.  If you show respect, then you earn it.
2) When you die, don't mark it with a barrage of swear words.  Firstly, it doesn't help.  Also, Soldat is a game where people try to kill you and your team.  So, when you die, it's no big deal... unless you're holding the flag =P.  If you have to say something make it complimentive because after all, it was them who killed you.
3) When you kill someone, don't rub it in their face.  Unless, of course, you both know you're joking.  (In case you don't know, what I mean is not to say "HAHAHAHAHH I OWNED YOU YA NAB" kind of thing.)
4) In general, be nice to people.  Then people enjoy playing with you and working together with you.  It makes Soldat a wholeeee lot different.

Note, again, that this is my opinion and others may have different perspectives.  So, I am open to all comments.  ;D ;D

yep.  That's pretty dead-on, the most important thing to remember while playing is to keep the peace.

Good.

Though there are serious egoistic people who call others noob because of play style.

I didn't include the extremes... maybe I should.

EDIT: bolding the word mostly should do the trick
