Blue Screen during shutdown process

My vista has recently developed an annoying habbit, when shutting down, (or restarting,) mid process, the vista just blue screens out of the shutdown process, then restarts even when I tell it not to. So now I have to shut it down by unplugging the damn cord. Any fixes or help for poor 'lil me?

Have you done the usual:
 - Use microsoft update
 - Make sure you don't have any spyware / viruses
 - Make sure none of your hardware drivers have gotten fecked up for one reason or another
 ?

Can't you just press 'n' hold the off button?

Go in to the bios and remove restart on BSOD.

Enjoy your vista and retail games slaget.

And a bluescreen is caused by hardware errors. Your ram/anything else might be defective.

Just hold down the power button, until it turns off by itself, that's how I do it ;D

Every computer has an off button. Find your manual that followed when you bought the computer. There should be pics with pointers and arrows that shows what the off button looks like, along with instructions on how to use it.

Holding down the power button for a few seconds should shut down your computer (better than the pulling the plug anyway)
What kind of error does the BSoD have? Also answer the questions from jrgp.
If the computer automaticly restarts when you get a BSoD read here how to make it not shut down.

The error codes from the BSoD can tell you whats wrong. (or atleast point you in the right direction)

I had more problems on my XP comp than I have had on my Vista one so shush. Vista isn't so bad.
