Base capture mode?

A flag sits in a static position.  A person must stand near the flag to capture it, it then becomes a spawn point.  To capture a flag you must first neutralize it, so if Alpha goes to capture a Bravo flag, they camp in that area (which should be a relatively large area) until it turns white, and bravo no longer spawns around the flag capture area.  If they defend it long enough it turns red, to their side.   

I think this MIGHT be scriptable..  all you need is a timer that counts down when a player is in a certain area, and a script that changes the respawn points afterwards (like the progressive spawn script in TTW, which im pretty sure exists, right?)  If it were implemented into reaslistic game-mode I think it would be pretty fun.. 

I dunno how well it would go as a Deafult game-mode because soldat is so fast paced.

Yes, that is definitely scriptable, and a pretty good idea, but not as a default gamemode.

F12 for being a good idea
F11 for being made default

Anyway, I'd say this is not a bad idea for Soldat at all. It would be interesting to see this as as scripted game mode, but I don't think it should be a default game mode.

F12 for scripted game.
F11 for default.

lol yeah, I was thinking of how in BF2 you have 'uncaps' that shouldn't be raped, and I thought about this in soldat INF, how blue base is like an 'uncap', idea just popped into my head.

I believe curt has made a domination script which is basically this except in it you had to capture the base before it and got points for each base you controlled. It was pretty fun to play also so uh F12 to the game mode but it shouldn't be default, we have enough game modes that no one plays :P

If I could script-write, I would create a Frontlines: Fuel of War script and server, as well as a Conquest mode (This idea) and maybe a Gold Rush Mode (From Bad Company). This would work for my new maps.

You must script in the ability to have more than two flags though.

But won't this gamemode be too slow-paced to Soldat? Unless you have really large maps, or a really long respawn time. Other than that, f12 for a server like this.

Not when you have to respawn kill and camp.  These two dont go well with soldat..  The flag capture area would hav to be huge, and you would need to work together as a team though

Is this not pretty much exactly TTW? If not elighten me. If it is, talk to one of the TTW guys. This has always been a solid mode on shooters, would be great even if just scripted.

Hehe, like all others, I gotta go F12 for the idea, but F11 for default. I think too many default mods can be screwed up.
