There is really no point in joining a clan before you're actually decent and you can manage standing up to all the good "pro" players that join your local public DM server. Get better and then join a clan.

I disagree. I think you'll learn faster in a clan. Even when you lose, most people are pretty quick to pick up play styles from clans which have been around longer.

I guess Blister wasnt listening. I play gathers nub, not pub DM (well, only when I want to kill super nubs).

Well yeah, I can definitely agree that you probably shouldn't start seriously play clan wars until you have enough experience under your belt and you got the basics down, but Darkebrz seems pretty confident even after playing in gather so I dunno. It's a bit hard to believe with only 3-4 weeks of playing but I think some people pick the basics up really quickly, what takes more time is to actually REALLY get CTF and being able to adapt in different situations. But it really depends on the person, I know people who have become really good in less than a year while others have played for years and still have no clue how to play CTF that well. I haven't seen Darkebrz play gather (what's your nick btw?) so I can't comment on his skill but he seems to want to join a clan and I think it won't hurt him if he finds some nice clan to be in as it's more fun to play with some cool people around you, plus he can keep practicing in pubs and gathers while being in a clan.

And also against the rules...

@Darkbrz: what is your IRC nick, how many gathers have you played (if its less than 10 then you can't really say that you're experienced :P)

Lol @ flaming towards people with less post counts than self. No fűcking respect.
Anyway, Darkebrz you disrespectful nub piece of shít: working your way up and actually trying to beat the people from pub DM would be a good idea, not just talking shít. If you're good in gathers, either the people that you play with are utter cataclysmic failures, or congratulations are necessary, as you're Soldat's next 5 year old prodigy.
@ DragonSlayer: I was in a clan, hoping that my skills would increase. But the only thing I found clan wars would do is increase the stress and the desire to not go wrong, not so much the skill - for some reason I don't perform well under pressure if I'm not at the same level the opposing team is, in terms of skill. This was getting in the way of me performing well.
So, in my case, a casual play in public DM servers did the trick; now I can trial for good clans out there without a problem.

Who the hell is this cocky piece of sh*t?

@iDante and DS: He is Doejenor something.
