Steel + glare
« on: August 11, 2008, 02:45:59 pm »
My monitor gives me tonnes of glare thanks to the white blinds in my study so when the sun is out on maps like Steel I can see feck all. Basically when I'm playing league matches I'd rather be able to see the map I'm on and not just the players. Is there anyway I can lighten the textures so the WHILE map is lighter? Or give the map a bright outline?

Changing the texture to white has got be this:

It's alright but at points like the bottom spikey bit in the base I still can't see where it is. Any step by step fixes or advice would be appreciated.

Yeah I know that would help but I have white blinds so they still let it through. Instead of putting a towel up which would raise questions from the family I'd rather have my question answered.

Buy better blinds then? Just put the towel/blanket up if you can't go out and buy new blinds, just tell your family that it prevents a glare on your computer screen.
And as the lyrics go in the United State's national anthem: "America, f**k YEAH!".

Nail/staple a sheet over the window.  Then save up for a curtain-rod and drapes from Target.

No, seriously.

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake.  Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."

Scientists say they have invented a revolutionary new computer monitor that prevents more than 50% of the glare from light sources and especially the sun using a concept taken from a fly's compound eyes that naturally prevents sun glare. But it's probably hundreds of dollars, so seriously, just go save up money and buy some new blinds if you are self-conscious of your family asking questions about a freaking towel spread over a window...

Anyone who absolutely must look at pr0n at the airport?

Other than privacy, glare (as is the case with OP), or severe ADD, that's about all I can think of.
