assispoint concept
« on: October 31, 2008, 03:43:30 am »
Hi, This is MMM speaking.
I have a question regarding assistant points concept. When I play on-line I always have plenty of the assistant points, but I do not see that my killing counter grows. How are the assistant points recalculated to actual kills? Could somebody explain, please?
Regards,
MMM

Lol. There are no assist points in soldat... maybe some pubs use the script, but it just adds points and not "assist points".

You can win a match without killing anyone, that's how it works.

Explain what you mean by assist points so we have a better idea of what you are asking.

There are no assist points in Soldat, MMM.

Unless the server is scripted, the only way to earn points are, depending on the gamemode, killing, capturing the flag (CTF and INF), holding the flag (HTF), killing with the bow (Rambo) or killing while holding the flag (Pointmatch).

Are you playing in a scripted server, maybe, MMM?

Actually MMM, there is no assist points, not in the ORIGINAL Soldat servers.

What really happened is that, you entered a server with scripting. Scripting is basically making a code to be used in a Soldat server. These scripts have a variety of effects when used. For example, when you have scripts enabled, it is possible to type something like /zombie and zombies spawn out everywhere. However, in the actual game, there is no such command - it's only because of scripting that makes this possible.

The only points available depends on the DEFAULT game mode you play. In Deathmatch and Teammatch, killing is considered points. In Rambomatch, you have to kill the one holding the Rambo Bow or kill others when YOU have the Rambo Bow. In Hold the Flag, you have to hold the flag for a period of time to earn points. In Capture The Flag (CTF), you have to capture the other team's flag and bring it to your own in your base to earn points - returning the flag DOES NOT earn points.

Infiltration is a bit more complex. If you are on the red team (Alpha), you have to capture the black flag and bring it to the white flag to earn points. If you are on the blue team (Bravo), you have to defend the black flag and prevent it from being stolen. Overtime, if the black flag is not yet captured and is still in its original position, blue team earns points. Returning the black flag does not earn any points.

If you happen to be playing a server with Survival mode on, being the last man standing may earn you a point in some game modes.
