TW_Fangen version 0.99

Gameplay on this map is meant to be solely tactical, as there are no buildings between each base, but plenty of cover and tall grass. Be wary, as idiotic jumping will provide excellent target practice to anyone in range.  When obtained, grenades will prove to be best chucked into occupied trenches.

Watch out for bunker turrets; always have a sniper around when advancing upon the enemy stronghold. Lastly: rocks will always be your best cover when out in the open, and prone when possible. Look lively, and prepare yourself!

To anyone who remembers the "2nd Final Release" for this map will be familiar with the fact that there used to be, poised above the middle trench, a small structure with a healing point. Well, it was an awful design, and screamed to be removed. It has now been replaced with two measly corpses that slow down grenades and bullets (and a deeper middle trench).

Waypoints have been improved since last release (bots don't get stuck in the squarish trenches), and you'll find that a few more things have changed since Release #2. Enjoy!

[still not version 1.0, as there are some graphical things unfinished]

I wanted a *only-trenches-twmap* for a long time. But this one ain't rly completed. It's way to small, a bit more hilly wouldn't have hurt too. And the visuals are only basic.

Complete it, the idea has potential.

I wanted a *only-trenches-twmap* for a long time. But this one ain't rly completed. It's way to small, a bit more hilly wouldn't have hurt too. And the visuals are only basic.

What other visuals could I add to a map like this, when it's only just a field. I know the beach looks a tad crappy, but it's improved since last version a good deal (with the water, and coloring).

And I wanted it to specifically dip downwards a tad since Soldat is a 2D game, and you can't stand side-by-side with your fellow man when fighting. You have to stand behind or in front. The slant is to encourage sniper-viewing range, and discourage "bullet pushing." I know you aren't opposed to there being a slant in the overall map, but adding hills to an already established map, and to keep it the way I just described, will be a little harder than it sounds... but I'll manage just fine.

Have any recommendations on visuals? I suppose I could add simple things like a blotted-out sun, and a little more cloudiness (actually, I like that way the sky is now; the film of dust covering everything). Yes, so recommendations for visual stuff would really be nice, as I don't seem to see what else I could add to the field (aside from something to give cover from the base turrets, and to improve rock-cover).

(Yes, I agree with you. It does feel unfinished)
