Pretty nice site actually. I think even christmas extremists would get fed up with your color palette after browsing the site a bit though.

I learned a long time ago to stop trying to design my own websites because while I may have the technical skills to code a site, I don't have the artsy capacity to design something that looks decent.  Most sites that I make from the ground-up tend to end up being blah, even if they may work just fine.

Same.  My websites are very minimalistic, often white text on black background, and not much more.  It's simple, it works, and it looks alright, so I'm fine with it.

Only anime shows I've felt any interest in over the years are Pokemon (original TV series) and various hentai.
so clearly jgrp is a goddamn anime connoisseur. his opinion might as well be law here.

Green and red should never be mixed.

Green and red should never be mixed.

Absolutely false.

They just should never be mixed like that.

Ehh, decent.
I recommend you clean up your css a bit, its a good habit if you plan on mixing up your site. Such as I saw you rewrote some declarations when its status was changed. An example would be how you did
Quote
width: 750px;
height: 150px;
under #logo{} and #logo a{},
just little things like that caught my eye. Also the fact you loaded another image for the logo when you could have just positioned a div on top and changed it opacity on hover. Very large waste of bandwidth that could be eliminated with a few lines for duplicate effect. Also for generally applied standards for the nav you should have used ul then changed its properties since it is a list. The #outer_wrapper green gradient breaks if screen res is smaller than 750, it stops at edge, when scrolling is needed it wont work.

As for aesthetics, that is not up to me. As long as you can create what you envision then it is good. Hope the constructive criticism helps a bit and always, all the best.

The background has too much contrast. It's supposed to bring out the foreground, not distract.
Hover effects are okay, except for the logo. Don't use them just because you can.

Everything else is fine. I like the layout and it works in major browsers.

I absolutely hate the background.

(Also why is there a picture of a beach on the front page? :|)
