Downloading a weaponnames.txt from a weapon moded server

You have a server with modded weapons.
You can name weapons with more orientative names about how you have changed weapons.

Server would upload to clients alternative weaponnames.txt for that server.
Present method confuses me.  ::)

Names would then be overwritten if people maliciously mod popular mods and commence distribution.

The names wouldn't make sense to people who don't have your weapons-gfx an' sounds-gfx anyways.

wild bill your sig breaks da rules. no animated sigs.

If the names are extremely generic then it could work in theory... like renaming the gun with 3 as bullet type "shotgun" would work. But personally it takes about a quarter of a round to try every gun.
