all resized images from sun tatoos. The first one, which I had, is from blackdevil0742.

If anyone can tell me (not do, tell me) how to add a glow like on first avatar, it'd be very appreciated, because they would look x2 better with a glow around.

Well i can help you, only if you use GIMP though.

Select all the transparency with the magic wand, feather edge on, make new layer, then fill the transparency of that new layer with black. Put the black on the top layer, then select the black again with feather edge on, and delete it. It should leave a black glow.

Number 2 looks pretty sexy Niko. :D Well they all look really nice, so why don't you switch between them every week or something? ;)

Happy new year!

Do note that you won't be able to enjoy the nicely AA'd edges that PNG offers if you animate it as a GIF.

Niko Glow (I assume you meant the slight dark area like a shadow):

1. Get Paint.NET

2. Duplicate layer (Layers>Duplicate layer or Ctrl+Shift+D)

3. Set the lightness to -100 in Hue/Saturation (Adjustments>Hue/Saturation or Ctrl+Shift+U)

4. Go to the Layers panel and press the little blue arrow which is pointing down to move the black shadow under the image.

5. Gaussian Blur (Effects>Blurs>Gaussian Blur), the amount you set affects the shadow amount.

6. Viola.

Note: there are other ways to do this (such as downloading a plugin) but I guessed it would be a one-off thing and find this the fastest way to do it.

well, I tried with gimp and failed miserably. I don't know what am I doing bad, I follow all the steps in order but I can't make a decent glow. I'm gonna try Paint.net and follow ur instructions.. it seems easier.

EDIT: nice, just in a sec... Paint.NET is just.... sooooo amazing... so fast and easy to use o.O

Updated first post with more avatars.

That is one of the reasons PDN>gimp.

Just don't draw a line and then use polar inversion on it and say its awesome.
