...I actually think 3D Realms is giving it out for free now. I'm pretty sure I remember finding a legit download from their website a good few years ago or somethingoranother. And hell, even if that isn't the case, I don't see them making any money off the thing anymore, anyway.

It was kinda cool to go back down memory lane, but it was pretty confusing when I tried to play it online with a couple of my friends and we were all named DUKE. Plus, playing it with Mouse Look on, the way the perspective bends like all hell when you look up or down gave me a headache in no time flat.

It's not warez. Back in the early 90's, almost all games had a "demo" version and that was freely distributed in a vairety of ways. (Doom, the Keen's, Cosmo, Wolf2D, Spear Of Destiny, etc etc etc) This is one of those demo versions, wrapped inside of a port with a network manager. Perfectly legal.

We may be switching to eDuke, since they released the source code for Duke3d people have made it a bit better. It has a lot more options and even high res textures.

It will probably even work better.

Duke 3d is not warez anymore, it is open source. This is 100% legit and free to play. Full version. Hope my guide helps in setting up Duke!  The new update also includes a map maker!

It looked that way to me too, so I'm just using Software Rendering (in-game Options > Video Setup > Renderer). Looks great.

It should be obvious. He may not be able to read the small writing, but neither could I. It's the big menu text that he needs to look at, and if I could read it, so could he. "IT LOOKED THAT WAY TO ME TOO". How do you think I did it? See in his screenshot where it says "GAME SETUP" at the top? That's how the menus look, and they're quite easy to read.

I'm very surprised your strict Christian beliefs grant you the permission necessary to play such a game like this. After all, Duke 3D is all about running through softcore porn stores with dirty magazines everywhere shooting aliens and blowup dolls that throw money all over the place when they explode. Well, the single player part at least.

It's pretty tasteless but also fun. As long as I don't let myself be influenced by that content I consider it fine for personal use. It's the same with movies.
