i just relized, when i hit people with m79, like a direct hit, it sumtimes doesn't kill people, tell me why, cuz it's really irritating.
ctf and inf's best gun is possibly deagles and ak-74 if you can control it.
Deagle's pro: strong and fast reload
                   con: hard to aim with
Ak-74's pro: very strong (1~3 headshot = death)
                  con: HORRIBLE shooting speed

That happens every so often with any gun, actually, it's just that it's more noticeable with the one-hit weapons... because they're one-hit weapons. An AK user might hit a guy 10 times but only 6 or 7 of the hits will register, and eventually he will still get the kill. An M79 user might fire one shot and get a direct hit but it wil not register, which screws him.

1 to 3 headshot = death... maybe in real mode, but in normal? Totally inaccurate.

You mean, on publics?... Then ok. But probably most used weapon on cw's is Steyr ;d.

WTF? 1-3? lol'd. Even in realistic you need more.
... and you are taking isn't shooting speed as a "con" - imho it's accurate due to it's shooting rate.

I've seen this too.  Happens with grenades also.  It's really, really irritating.

Don't quote me on this, but I think it has to do with client-side prediction in net games.  Basically the client has a version of all the other avatars as they would be at that point in time, ahead of when their position packets arrive at your machine, as to prevent your experience from lagging behind reality too much.  In such cases, it's possible that you'll hit the predicted avatar, but miss once those packets get to the server.

Then again it could be a subtle bug or even a failure in the netcode implementation.  Heck if I know; Soldat is full of bugs anyway.  ???

The only way to be sure is to have everyone involved in a match record demos and then compare the play-by-play to see how different they are from client to client.  Then you'd know the likelyhood of the problem being a transport issue (network), prediction delay (explained above), or in the game code itself.

Just remember what ol' Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake.  Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right in the eye and says, "Give me your best shot. I can take it."
