Diablo III
« on: March 11, 2009, 08:43:06 am »
Are you as excited as I am about this game?

I was a big fan of Diablo II, while unfortunately I didn't get to play the original game. I remember the good old days of playing D2 long into the nights with mates, letting my trustworthy Amazon drill both players and enemies into submission. Back in the day when Guided Arrow, Piercing and Knockback all stacked up in one unforgiving attack, and Windforce was still the best bow out there. And then there was my Hammerdin.. and my Shockerdin.. and my MF Sorc! Ah, those were the days indeed.

So what are your thoughts and expectations to this game? I can tell I'm definitely gonna play the Barbarian to start with, probably going Beserker with a twist of Juggernaut. Just seems to me like an endless amount of damage boost is all that's really up for this class.

I was happy to learn that the Barbarian was sort of a mix between the D2 Barbarian and Paladin, since the latter was always my favorite.

So, do share!
I fucking miss all you cunts!

Sure I really expect this, I was a fan of D2 too. I played with druid, necro and sorc.

However, I'll need a new cpu to play on this game I think :(

Hopefully blizzard wont jerk us around in D3, like they were doing at the end of D2...

This is going to be brilliant. I played a ton of Diablo II with the friends I had in my set (group of 10-20 people) during the empty blocks of time between lectures.

Mostly played a Martial Arts Assassin and a Hammerdin.

I'm excited but skeptical on its release date, Blizzard has been notorious lately/forever. Hopefully Activision doesn't somehow make it suck as well. My friend still wants Starcraft: Ghost. And SC:II which I also have my doubts about. I bet it rocks tremendously when it does come out if it ever does.

If you checked any SCII fansite lately you'd see SCII is extremely close to beta stage >_>

Ghost never even got near alpha. SCII already is technically playable.

My most anticipated game right now is Homeworld 3, though I don't usually keep up on the very latest games. Nothing's been announced about it but the original developer bought back the rights to the franchise, and they didn't do it without a reason.
Do you want to see me crawl across the floor to you?
Do you want to hear me beg you to take me back?
I'd gladly do it because
I don't want to fade away.

I heard that they're gonna hold back the SC release until D3 is ready as well, and then put it all out at once.

You misheard then. SC2 will be split into T/Z/P installments and the Terran campaign will be released before D3 goes gold.

O, there was almost a rumor that hit Digg recently that D3 had been given a release date of Dec 24 2009.

Now obviously this is a ridiculous release date, and I seriously doubt there is any truth behind it at all. Mostly because they don't really do release dates. And even if they did, what kind of idiot would release a blockbuster the day before Christmas? Nobody would be able to buy it in time for Christmas Day.

But yeah, I don't really mind Blizzards way of releasing games. After all, I don't think they have ever released a bad game. It's just how they are.

And I wouldn't worry about Activisions involvement. They made it very clear upon the merger/purchase that Activision would have no role in Blizzard at all. Makes sense. I don't know what kind of idiot would fuck with what Blizzard is doing.

I also hope this game isn't like some recent ones in that it has awful bugs and gets patched a lot because that is really... annoying.

It's Blizzard. They might not be imaginative and they keep transplanting the same features through all their games, but the one thing they have going is consistent high quality.

Obviously it hasn't been released yet, but there are some pretty wicked Gameplay videos out there. So far only 3 classes have been released though, the witchdoctor, the wizard and the barbarian(part two).
