Laugh at me all you want, but please help

I set permissions for a particular folder for administrators to deny for everything (now I look back on it and hit myself repeatedly) and I can not change permissions, delete, enter the folder or anything. I have a feeling I could use some kind of program, as the SYSTEM's permissions are still allow.

I really need to either rollback these permissions (preferably not system restore or formatting my hard drive).

Any ideas?

Maybe you could create another user, make it an administrator, and log in as it and try modding the folder from there?

If that doesn't work, you might have to hack at the windows filesystem. Maybe boot a gparted livecd and mount the partition or go into windows' recovery console (option at boot with windows install dvd, iirc), and delete the folder if you really don't like it being there.

Wild guess: if the folder is not owned by your administrator account already, are you able to claim ownership over it (Properties -> Security tab -> Advanced -> Owner -> Edit)?

Edit: I just tried doing the same thing myself (under an administrator account; UAC disabled), and I could simply edit the security settings again to untick the denied rights. Dunno why it wouldn't work for you.

Don't have install CD, and gparted livecd? seems a bit out of my depth

I can un-tick the denied rights, but then I get some errors which I can't remember. I was fiddling around in the advanced settings quite a bit and I managed to get full rights to one of the sub-folders :/

Try to untick the denied rights for Administrators, and for your administrator account. I managed to restore the rights with a bit of fiddling around - just try to re-enable the rights for a particular user, one by one, until things work.

try going to Folder Options>View unckeck the "use simple access to folders(or something like that,sry im win is not on english)" so..your windows might come up with the blue screen of death..if that happensdont worry...fap fap fap..
than go to the folder and open the folder options go to securety and add your user inthere(usualy its only system and administrator,and dont forget to set premission to check all the boxes(full controll)
so fap fap fap it should work.

Ask someone to upload their file that you are having troubles with, use WindowsX File Deleter to delete your file, and paste in the new one.
