So I have been cruising around the net and started stumbling across sites that were talking about video cards for laptops. Now is this an option I should be looking into since I don't know when I might get a desktop? If so dump some links on how-to's and recommendations on what to buy. I have some cash but not loads.

So you bought a laptop without a video card and want to use it for gaming? That's so wrong.

In any case, you should contact the laptop manufacturer and ask them for a list of compatible video cards for your model. Though you probably shouldn't install it by yourself unless you know what you're doing, so having them do it is preferable.

...Because the morons aren't offering it as a free upgrade for those of us with Vista.

its pretty simple to do really, if you've got one in there just go ahead and uninstall the drivers and turn off, open the bottom and the port should open like a flap so that its out in the open, pull that card out then put your card in, start up and install drivers.

I hate to be a bother but I honestly have no time to really get into searching for all the information I want here. Anyone know if I could find a list of compatible stuff for my laptop(Dell Studio 1735) online? I tried the dell site but all it gave me was refurbished stock parts. I can't seem to find anything with google either.

Hmm, I thought most laptops didn't let you switch out the video cards.

Admittedly its been a couple years since I've looked into any new laptop news.
