Battle for San Francisco Preview - Part Deux
« on: August 04, 2006, 04:48:07 am »
Part Deux is more fun to say than to read (say 'duw')

After a few busy weeks, I've finally made some progress on the San Fran map pack (original thread/first map here -> http://forums.soldat.pl/index.php?topic=2218.0 ), i've made some healthy progress into the next map.

this map is set at the Museum Concourse in Golden Gate Park, between the De Young Museum and the Academy of Sciences (which is currently under construction, but I put in the Academy as I knew it).

I've finished the layout, but only sceneried the De Young side so far (shown below).  I'll post more screenies as they become worth showing

if anyone wants, i'll post a download link to test out gameplay

any comments/suggestions appreciated

Looks nice, especially the texturing and shading of the rocks and dirt under the basement car parking lot, but it appears that the stairs can be passed through.

If so, why don't you make all of the Doesn't Collide (or Only Bullets Collide, whatever) polygons darkened so they appear in the background? :) That'd look even better.

try here -> http://sml.u13.net/files/ctf_sf_museum.zip and give it a quick run through, tell me if you still think it's a problem

i made it so that every set of stairs is no-collide for the bottom for gridmarks, such that you can run thru em w/o trouble and make an easy hop up onto em

edit: ++ big thanks bout the shading, that's my first real attempt at something beyond the basic 'dark-at-the-edges' sorta thing

check the link in my first post to the first map - bravo starts in the haight

Finished the Alpha side of the map -> The Academy of Sciences

very similar to the Bravo side, with mainly some basic aesthetic changes + added fog (the amb_fog.png or somethin like that - thanks to whoever made that and the banners - st_banner.bmp)

as before, please give any suggestions/crit
