9999 Ping

I am well aware of the stickied topic but before I even begin to think with messing with my router, I'll adress my problem.
Today, I tested if I could actually run a server and it so happens it works. After tinkering with a few things, ping limit, TeamSpeak, etc. and tried it out, I'm registered between these 10.0.0.0 – 10.255.255.255
I didn't even look at my IP when it first worked but I'm assuming it wasn't in any of them stated in the sticky.

To sum it all up, it worked at first now it doesn't. I'll post more details once they come up.

You cant get your ping via checking it on the lobby from your computer, but you will need an another computer which will seach the lobby.

Also you can use this to check if your server is working correctly, and also you will get an approximate ping that a player from texas would have. Dont forget to use teh default ports

Also, check if some of the settings didnt got accidentaly reset.

Ah, I've got it working again. It appears I was using the same ports for both the server and the join port in the game. ::)

Since this isn't the computer I usually use, I might need to refer back here. Thanks for the quick reply. :)

Okay, so now it's somehow not working. Whilst going into my own server, the phone rang and I got a connection problem. Afterwards, it all went haywire..
Still trying to figure out how I got it to rework in the first place.. :P

Could it be that there is 4 computers including this one on the same connection that I come across these problems?

I seriously don't get how it can work one time and not work and work again and not work.
Does it matter what game port I use?

Sorry, my mistake.
After countless of port combinations, I've got nothing. I wonder how I got it working the first two times.

What is your connection speed?

Test @ www.speedtest.net , so we get your approx. connection speed.

EDIT: So, I gave in and port forwarded. It works alright now. How it worked the first two times is beyond me. ::) *Closed*

Sorry for my calm /rage.

Well, right now, I'm capped but I seem to play Soldat at the same ping as to when I'm not cappped.
As for hosting, it looked alright. I got someone I knew to test if it was working and they were at a steady, not great but certainly durable ping.

My speed is pretty bad but I try to work around it. Once my monthly download limit has exceeded, it reverts back to a dial-up state.
