me and suow have been trying working towards makeing inf more popular, first by makeing some fresh more action paced maps in the last infiltration map contest, and then we have plans to start a gather using these maps.

You can't really make people play something if they don't like it. Either a mod is a success or not  (see HTF).

I don't understand why HTF isn't more popular. It's mad fun. I guess that it never caught on in pubs because it requires much better teamwork than CTF, INF, or TDM do.

yeah htf is one of my favourites too.

when we were makeing htf maps in #soldat.mapping we had 5-10 htf gathers / day just because ppl enjoyed playing the maps so there is definantely potential there. Same for when we were makeing maps for the inf mapping contest.

I really doubt INF will ever be as popular as CTF because it is so heavily one sided. That also makes it fairly difficult to have clanwars and gathers in it because of the lack of balance and time it takes to give each team a fair chance.

On the subject of CTF being overrated I completely agree with it, most of my CTF pals won't even bother with trying INF because they just don't like the concept of 1 team camping and 1 team attacking. It's just something that probably won't ever change.

Inf clanwares should be divided into quarters. MR (max rounds) should be set to 24. One quarter would conclude 6 rounds. One half of the cw would be played on one map, 2nd part on other map. After each quarter ending there would be switching sides. Team wich won more rounds wins the cw. I don't know if you get my point.

Just play every map twice, and switch teams when you play it a second time. Kinda like what Wookash said.
