BF2 Thread(was problems, now disscusion)

I installed BF2 to a custom install path. When I tried to patch it to 1.41, the patch would start install-shield-wizard, then crash. I can't uninstall the game, I can't reinstall the game. Its just f**ked. Help?

Delete its folder, if it doesnt want, do it in safe mode or try to do it with Unlocker.
Clean the registry, CCleaner would be fine.
Install it anew to the default folder.

BF2 was/is awesome. Im not playing it anymore, but I used to play alot.  Battlefield bad company 2 is coming for the PC in not too long, and it looks awesome. Should keep me going untill Battlefield 3 dares to show its face.

BF2 kicks ass, 4+ year old though so the online community probably isn't the best (just about everyone is leet pro at it these days)

BF2's community is decreasing every year. It's not as active as it use to be.

It went down from 5000 servers to 1400. A lot of people might think this doesn't matter, but it certainly does considering most of the server have 0 players in it.

Yeah.. just use bf2 as a time waster until battlefield bad company 2 comes out.

All I know is, I can now hit people with a sniper since the update. I couldn't before. Does anyone else think that the MEC and Chinese snipers are waaay better then the USMC's? I know they are balanced but the semi just tends to be more effective.

No, I liked the USMC rifle pretty good. More precise over distances. I didn't play much sniper though. Found it boring. Playing with 3 other friends walking around in a squad is the way to play!

Thats pretty much the most fun to get. Stick in one vent/TS channel and create a squad. ^^

Used to play in lot's of league matches and many intense battles. I was the dedicated attack chopper pilot/main medic for the clan that I stayed the longest with

Has anyone Played Desert Combat? It was an official mod for BF1942. Plus its crazy unooficial one called Desert Combat Xtended. BF2 has a mod called AIX. It owns.
