Just a few weapons I did

Hi there, after a period of mapping (I will later concentrate on mapping again) I come to modding Here are a few weapons I did, I dont have them as a mod, because I think of doing after Pokemon of an other mod, until then I have to ask you what do you think of my weapons (I know, that the last one is oversized )

-Where do I have to improve?
-Like my weapons, which ones especially?
-Good for using MS Paint?

All suggestions are welcome!

It's quite tricky to start off making weapons that are made up, so you should try to replicate a real gun (like the MP5?).

the shading is good for a first step, so now it's best to work on shapes, and playing around with it until you get your style

after that you might want to try texturing (adding imperfections to the finish, with very small varations in shading, you can also use dithering)

lol! on website is the mix of rifle, revolver, m16, gprs and the barrel is the grenade launcher....

Anyways, for the weapons, they look overall bad(so far because of no colors ~_~) but those shapes of weapons doesn't look that bad. Keep it up! And make sure to resize that Uzi.

Ah, I know what you mean with my shapes I am know at updating my weapons, but I dont know how to go from interface-weapons to the ingame ones, should I just resize them and work the colors out again or should I make them new

Err make an image for interface and don't resize for the weapon-gfx, they'll look ugly, make them

Just do the colours in the general shape of the weapon, you'll get the hang of it (and remember don't use outlines on weapon-gfx!)

Yes the outlines are recolored with the darkest shading for the weapon, am I right?

For weapon menu or weapons-gfx?  in either case, weapons-gfx shouldn't have any sort of outline at all, and you could try that on the weapons menu if you wanted, it could help you in some places. but another trick is to have an alpha transparent outline (try ~70%)

I'd suggest learning to walk before you run. Getting too worked up with fancy dingers and beans like alpha transparency before you can get simple bitmaps to go your way is asking for another Bone Collector.

Hmmm, I dont think that that is the best weapon-gfx-guide ever
I do it a way I saw in a guide her around (with the searchfunction) and am not resizing anymore

well, I think those are ok (except that hair dryer ^^), but that guide i saw here was kinda, umm... weird. There is still after that some sizeproblems i quess... well, yeah...
I made weapon from District 9 - movie, It's attached to this message. (spoiler that don't spoil anything: that District 9 -movie was AWESOME!!!) Oh, and donät use dithering in this small weapons, it looks horrible...
